Today, Sunday October 7th, we were learning about Samuel, Hannah's son.
Last week we read about Hannah and how she wished for a son. She promised God that she would take him to the Temple to learn God's ways and that he would always be a servant of God if she got a son. Eventually, she had a son, and she named him Samuel, she also kept her promise. So at age four Hannah took Samuel to the temple.
Now this weeks story, was about how one night, Samuel heard a voice that kept on calling his name. Samuel always rushed to Eli, the priest that taught and took care of him, to know why he was calling his name. But Eli wasn't calling his name. It was God.
So the next time when God called Samuel's name, Samuel said "Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening". Then God said " On that day I will fulfill against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from beginning to end..." Can you guess what comes next? Do you know the end of this story?
